Louth Races 2018 - WHAT'S ON

In the lead-up to the big raceday on Saturday, there are some wonderful community events for everyone to enjoy!

Wednesday

Gundabooka Golf Challenge

Tee-off at 10am, 9 holes, teams are decided on the day, one club and no sharing of clubs. $10 entry includes a mulligan lunch. At the conclusion of play, there will be an auction for the RFDS taking place on course. You can't have a game of golf without a thirst quencher, so there will be a drinks wagon doing the rounds during the day. Directions: From the pub, head south towards the race track. Just after the race track, there will be a turn to the left that takes you into the course. This will be clearly sign posted.

All day food is available at Shindy's Inn, with live music during daylight hours.

Thursday

Damper Bake-Off

Thursday sees the annual damper and scone bake off at Shindy’s. 6:30pm is the cut off for entries and Johny Mac will commence judging at 7pm. Each entry will set you back $3, with proceeds going to the RFDS.

Friday

Louth Public School Fair

With stalls selling everything from hand knits and crochet items, jewellery, candles, hats and hatinators, hand-turned wooden articles and locally made sauces and condiments, massage and aromatherapy, show bags, jumping castle and other entertainment, you’d be crazy not to wander over to the Louth Public School to have a look OR set up a stall and call it a work trip!

There is a seriously impressive morning tea put on by the local ladies, and lunch is available. This is the Louth Public School’s annual fundraising event, and entry is $5.

For stallholders, please call Louth PS 02 6874 7426

With an enrollment of just three students, it’s the smallest school in Australia.

Proceeds from the Friday Fair assist the children with the likes of excursions etc.

Calcutta

Tickets for the Calcutta ($5) and race books ($5) will be sold at Shindy's from mid afternoon, ceasing at about 7:30pm with the draw commencing at 8pm and the auction to follow.

Live Band

Live music during the day and a full live band in the evening. All day food at Shindy’s is available, with a BBQ dinner at Shindy's to support the Louth Chamber of Commerce.
